Uplevel's Meeting Classifier takes into account high-level details surrounding number of participants, meeting titles, and the duration of meetings to provide insights around the kinds of meetings take the most of your time.

As a reminder, you may change the classification of a meeting, which will classify all similar meetings into the newly selected meeting type moving forward.

Here are details on each meeting classification type and how the various classifications impact your People Health scores:

Blocked for Work

Blocked for work meetings are scheduled blocks of time on your calendar used to categorize uninterrupted, heads down time. Blocks for work are captured as Deep Work if they are two or more hours long.

Manager/Direct Reports 1:1s

Manager/Direct Report 1:1s are strictly meetings with 2 people, a manager and direct report, and contain key phrases like “1:1” or “Name / Name” in the meeting title. By default, a meeting between coworkers that are not a manager and direct report will not be classified in this category.

Office Hours

Office Hours are meetings that contain multiple participants and key phrases in the meeting title, such as “Office Hours”. By declining or marking Office Hours as tentative on your calendar, Uplevel does not assume you’ve attended the meeting and, thus, does not factor in these meetings to affect your levels of Deep WorkAlways On, or Context Switching.

Other Meeting Events

Other Meeting Events are any meetings that do not fit the categorized in any of the other meeting categories. Examples of other meeting events would be meetings with “Zoom meeting” or specific team jargon in the meeting title.

Out-of-Office

Out of office events are any that utilize a variety of key phrases in the meeting title, such as "OOO", "Leave", and more. These meeting types would not be counted towards Deep WorkAlways On, or Context Switching.

Product Release Reviews

Examples of Product Release Reviews would be launch meetings, roadmap planning meetings and more. Uplevel considers the meeting title and number of participants to categorize meetings into this meeting type.

Recruiting

Recruiting meetings are interviews or other recruiting events, as defined by the number of participants and key phrases in the meeting title, such as "interview", "candidate", "phone screen", and more.

Scrum

This meeting type includes any team scrum events, such as standup meetings or sprint retros.

Social/Company Events

Uplevel captures social/company events by factoring in multiple participants and key phrases in the meeting title, like “happy hour”, “social party”, and more.

By declining or marking social/company events as tentative on your calendar, Uplevel does not assume you’ve attended the meeting and, thus, does not factor in these meetings to affect your levels of Deep WorkAlways On, or Context Switching.

Training Sessions

Meetings that involve multiple participants and include key phrases like “training”, “course”, “bootcamp”, and more in the meeting title are considered training sessions.

Working Sessions

Working sessions are meetings that involve multiple participants and include “working session”, "debugging", and more in the meeting title.
